The one smile.....

Like flowers blossoming in the garden green
Like water flowing in the peaceful stream
Like the touch of an angel in a beautiful dream

Like the artist's touch upon a canvas
Like the morning come upon us
Like the start of a magnum opus

Like a child's laugh in the air
Like a princess bold and fair
Like a straw of hay stuck in the hair

Like the sweet sound of a flute
Like the equilibrium in dispute
Like a barbie doll so cute

Like an autumn evening and the bird's tweet
Like a rabbit in the hedge, fast and fleet
Like two friends who part to meet

Like the phone for which you wait
Like a beautiful sky and your gorgeous date
Like the journey you took and paradise's gate

It is for that moment that your heart lives,
When every grief you forget and forgive,
When it is the one smile she gives.

Walking the path

I try and walk the path with you,
Foolishly ignorant,
There was nothing I knew.

The closer I tried to come,
The more you pushed away,
It got more difficult, with each passing day.

Your locked vault is your pride,
You had nothing to show ,
And everything to hide.

And the moment approaches,
The clock starts to tick,
The future is misty and the fog so thick.

Each moment now I look to with dread,
842 miles! My heart stops dead,
It is a dark path that lies ahead.

A yellow radiance had filled my life,
It seems to fade and shrink,
Shoving me into the realm of stife.

Every person I suspect,
Every action I dissect,
My own sanity I now disrespect.

When words cannot find expression,
It is the biggest frustration,
It is life's own ifuriation.

I try and walk the path with you.

Emotion

These are just a few lines that floated into my mind when I was not in a really good mood. Things have changed, but somehow these lines resonate with me. I call the piece Emotion.

Fear of rejection, your capitulation
The domination, your stupefaction
The separation, your dejection
The desperation, your determination
The deprivation, your realization
Life's information, your culmination
Every station and its Emotion.

The far end of the Rainbow

Wild horses running over the expanse of green,
A plate of strawberries topped with cream,
A warrior's nightmare, a philosopher's dream,
At the far end of the rainbow

A smiling damsel, beautiful and fair,
A laughter in the wind without a care,
A mouse in the trap, a lion in his lair,
At the far end of the rainbow

The man of wisdom having his fits,
Angry eyes narrowed to slits,
A broken heart shredded to bits,
At the far end of the rainbow

Peace, harmony and every other wish,
Mom's cooking and your favourite dish,
A clear ocean and the golden fish,
At the far end of the rainbow

A man walking the path, brave and bold,
Defying all wisdom, new and old,
Single minded focus on his pot of gold,
At the far end of the rainbow

10 days later......

I walked through the door,
Head bent, staring at the floor.
When I looked up,
My head spun and I could think no more.

There she stood, as radiant as ever,
Each tress of her flowing hair,
Glowing in the morning sun.

Each day away is an era itself,
Survival is not an option,
Its the problem itself.
Yet I struggle on,
Holding on to bits,
Hope springs eternal,
Even in the darkest of pits.

Here, there, everywhere.
Always so near, yet so far.
Looking forward, I am scared,
Thinking thoughts I haven't dared

Yet she makes my present beautiful,
With her there is no pain,
No sadness, no fear
All my troubles seem to disappear.

So I try and live for the present,
Without any joy and without any tear,
As she walks up to me and
says Happy New Year

The Shelter in the Storm

This poem is for my friend who has helped me through my lowest of lows.....

The sky darkens, the clouds block out the sun
The wind starts to blow and the child starts to run
The beach is desolate,
Nowhere to hide, nowhere to turn
The sea becomes a churn
Scared, the child begins to cry
All he needs is a place which is dry

A figure approaches from beyond yonder
The child looks up to him in wonder
His face has God's grace in it,
With his smile the entire beach is lit,
His words are wise and hug is warm
He is the shelter in the storm

When in doubt
When in fear
When you need someone near
When nothing seems clear
When you need someone to wipe that tear
When your heart is torn
He is the shelter in the storm

The child fumbles for a single word
The gratitude in his heart may never be heard
But he would not have seen the morn
Had there not been
The shelter in the storm

Walk Alone

Smile in joy, and also in pain,
For without either there is no gain,
Yet you will not heed words that are mine,
You will walk alone on the sands of time

Feel alone in solace and also in company,
Hear everything in silence and also in cacophony,
Yet you will not heed words that are mine,
You will walk alone on the sands of time

See everything in light and also in the dark,
For your arrows always hit their mark,
Yet you will not heed words that are mine,
You will walk alone on the sands of time

Touch the tangible and also the intangible,
Be wary of the world for you are gullible,
Yet you will not heed words that are mine,
You will walk alone on the sands of time

Walk alone, Walk alone
Walk alone on the sands of time
